In January of 2011, new mom Abby Saunders discovered how lovely a simple headband was adorning her baby girl.
After being informed of girls who spend a good amount of their time in the hospital & whose source of beauty comes from headbands & socks, she decided she wanted to create lovely accessories for these beautiful girls as well.
She found that the only way these girls find their beauty is through accessorizing – which can get expensive. Wanting to help, she created CHOOSE, a line from designs by abby lynn that could match every order placed with a simple and beautiful headband for these lovely girls. Each headband is given upon arrival to the hospital. With it, a card with the encouraging words CHOOSE {hope//joy//peace} is given as encouragement for the families to CHOOSE hope, CHOOSE joy, and CHOOSE peace during the difficult times they are facing.
Why headbands?
- These precious babies and little girls are required to wear a hospital gown & are connected to a variety of IVs and other sources.
- Many of these little girls have lost their hair or are newborns so clips won't attach to their very fine hair.
- These lace headbands with a delicate colored flower & felt leaf are breathable and gentle on their delicate heads.
Why CHOOSE?
Abby's great Aunt Clovis inspired her during a difficult time several years ago with the quote "Choose Joy"
These words have been very impacting in Abby's life through many trials and sufferings and have allowed her to be joyful and have encouraged her to be thankful through them all. As more trials enter your life, the need for hope & peace become greater as well. Through Abby's experiences, she began adding "Choose hope," and "Choose peace" to her daily reminders. Romans 15:13 became a wonderful outlet for remembering these truths.
The short term goal of CHOOSE is for the little girls of Nashville to be made lovely, which will be made possible by CHOOSE customers. The long term goal of CHOOSE is for little girls nationwide to recognize their beauty & their ability to CHOOSE in their difficult times.
